The headdress has been worn internationally on women for centuries. In some cases, the purpose is to adorn the wearer, showcasing status. In other cases, it serves as a veil, coverage from the public gaze. Using recycled materials and acrylic paint, I created a series of head pieces inspired by West African headwraps and the highlighter makeup craze.
