“The girl wearing pink”, was the first thing that came to mind to describe the stylish petite girl with box braids walking down campus.
I knew early on that wherever I went, I would be remembered for something. If it wasn’t my obnoxious obsession with color that struck you, it was my passion and kind heart. I entered school as a shy girl and graduated with a burst of confidence and clearer sense of self. Through art and fashion, I portrayed the loud, energetic girl I had been hiding all these years.
I graduated from Rhode Island School of Design, and went on to do various freelance apparel and art work.
In the Summer of 2015 I launched an accessories and clothing line, Hello Queen. The perfect marriage of my love of fine art and African inspired fashion. My work has been featured on Vogue, Women’s Wear Daily, Paper Mag, Afro Punk, Zen Magazine Africa and Festival Ballet.
On my free time, I love to explore the city. In the warmer months you can spot me at eclectic festivals like Afro Punk and BAM Dance Africa. I can never pass up a fun opportunity! I love working with other creatives. If you’re interested in collaborating, feel free to say hello.
